Chris grew up ski racing in upstate New York at Whiteface Mountain for NYSEF and attended Mountain House/National Sports Academy form 1988-1993. He attended St. Lawrence University for one year then quickly moved to the Gunnison Valley in 1994 to pursue his outdoor passion and take in the 300 plus days of Crested Butte sunshine, then graduated from Western State Colorado University in 1997.
The Snowsports Foundation is important to Chris because he realizes the need for Gunnison Valley kids, no matter their background, to have the chance to slide on snow, feel the wind in their face, and enjoy the pure fun of the experience. He is hopeful that these opportunities turn into a lifelong passion and love of the outdoors and mountains as it has for so many people in the community.
Chris is the owner of Jobson Builders, Inc., a custom fine home building company located in Crested Butte. He continues to enjoy the amazing Valley with his wife Heidi and two kids, Gavin and Anika, whom are active in the Crested Butte Mountain Sports Team alpine program.
