General season scholarships

2017/18 APPLICATION CYCLE IS CLOSED

The Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF) believes that snow sports offer opportunities for personal accomplishments and growth, and ultimately, enrich young adults’ daily lives. With that in mind, accessibility and inclusiveness to snow sports are at the heart of the Foundation’s mission and reason for being. The scholarships that CBSF awards allow for engagement in snow sports for athletes of varying economic and athletic backgrounds.

Our scholarships, both need and merit based, are made possible by generous gifts from our donors, sponsors, members, revenue collected from fundraising events, and 100% board participation.

Need and merit based scholarships are available from the Foundation to support program fees and/or equipment for student athletes participating in snow sports in Crested Butte or Gunnison. Athletes must ski or snowboard with one of our partner programs (Crested Butte Nordic Team, Gunnison Nordic Team, Crested Butte Mountain Resort Mountain Sports Team), or participate independently.

Jeremy A. Worrell Scholarship

2017/18 cycle open january 1 – march 15

The Jeremy A. Worrell Sports Scholarship was founded in memory of our amazing friend and skier Jeremy. Jeremy was an out going, compassionate, fun loving person who spent every spare moment enjoying the mountains of Crested Butte. At the time of his passing he had skied at least once for 54 consecutive months! His dedication to the sport of skiing was unmatched and it inspired his friends and acquaintances to take skiing to the next level. Jeremy competed in the Crested Butte Extremes for multiple years and always brought his positive attitude with him. In creating this scholarship, we would like to keep Jeremy’s spirit alive by providing the opportunity for like minded skiers and snowboarders to compete in big mountain and other snow related competitions with financial assistance from this fund. We hope all applicants can see the true dedication Jeremy had for all snow sports and continue his dedication in their pursuits of the pure joy that snow brings.

Thank you for applying!
